Big Freedia and the Divas, and Peach Cobblah
Are you ready to BOUNCE!?!!!??
BIG FREEDIA, the undisputed Queen Diva of New Orleans Bounce music, is bringing the Deep Down Dirty South to The Rickshaw Theatre on September 15th.
A bounce music pioneer, Freedia has been blowing the roof off nightclubs for over ten years and is credited for popularizing the genre. Freedia performs a derivative of Bounce reserved for self-proclaimed "Sissies" that has risen to prominence in recent years and features explicitly gay and cross-dressing musicians and themes. Big Freedia, like other "Sissy" artists, has achieved mainstream success with several New Orleans hit singles such as "Gin in My System" and "Azz Everywhere!"
With her gang of divas, The Azzy Rockettes, in tow, Big Freedia promises bumping beats, call and response style audience participation, and, of course, Azzes Everywhere!
