BC is replete with summer music festivals. From Vancouver to Atlin, hundreds of thousands of festival-goers flock to parks, stadiums, and campgrounds to soak in the sounds of summer. One of the most idiosyncratic and beloved festivals in BC is The ArtsWells Festival, which takes place in Wells, a picturesque Cariboo mining town. Describing Wells to the uninitiated is not easy. More of a Canadian Folk Music Family Reunion than a music festival, community building lies at the core of ArtsWells. It is that sense of community that brings artists and art lovers back year after year.
