Dead Asylum's CD Release Show w/ Slagduster, Snaggletooth, Bushwhacker
DEAD ASYLUM (www.facebook.com/
Dead Asylum formed in Vancouver at the end of 2011. The band's style spans the spectrum of metal, combining elements of thrash and death with melodic and grooving overtones without feeling confined by one genre. Influenced by a diverse array of artists such as Exodus, Amon Amarth, Kreator and Dying Fetus, Dead Asylum brings heart-crushing riffs and throat-gripping, rhythmic brutality to the metal scene.
Dead Asylum “is one of those bands that’s hit the ground running” (Abort Magazine). They've shared the stage with high-profile thrashers Toxic Holocaust and the legendary Anvil, as well as tour dates around BC and Alberta and two years at Armstrong Metalfest. The band is releasing their debut full-length album, 'General Carnage', on July 5, 2013. Lyrical themes include revolution and political uprising, the apocalypse, and—as the band name alludes—twisted facets of the human psyche.
Hailing from small-town Grand Forks B.C. and following lengthy stints in previous bands, four driven local musicians united in January 2010 to form the band they always wanted to be in. Slagduster creates bone-crushing yet intricately detailed, thought-provoking music, mixing technical riffs, heavy grooves, off time rhythms, epic build-ups and unique interludes, an emphasis is always kept on the melody, fluid song structure, raw feeling and brutality. Slagduster is not easily labeled in today`s music scene. No sissy vocals or cliché trendy mainstream non-sense. Period.
Snaggletooth is the only MOTÖRHEAD tribute band in the world dedicated to the four member version. You will hear songs from 1975-1995 (Campbell/Wurzel years) exclusively! Coming to a Snaggletooth show you will get the full on Motorhead experience...Snaggletooth sound and look like MOTÖRHEAD. Snaggletooth is the worlds best MOTÖRHEAD tribute band hands down. Fans say: "You can't get any closer to the real thing."
Bushwhacker was formed in 2007 by high-school friends Geoff Woods, Sean Komaromi, and Cavan Egan in the barren, mountainous woodlands of Whitehorse, Yukon. The band’s roots were originally in early ‘80s thrash, but began incorporating new elements to their music. With a continuously evolving sound and a 2011 move to Vancouver, the doors of influence were opened to progressive/psychedelic rock, as well as more extreme genres of metal.
