Rain City Throwdown Volume 3: 2014
TAKE THE EARTH BENEATH US, QUARTERED, THE BODY POLITIC, WOLFBORNE, DROP THE HATE
TAKE THE EARTH BENEATH US
Take The Earth Beneath Us began in late 2010. Members: Matt Charlton (guitar), Ty Kingston (guitar), Cody Muraro (vocals), Chris Hatch (drums), and Aaron Iwanow (former bassist) forged an original group with influences in metal and hardcore. After several months of writing and preparation the group entered Rain City Recorders to create their first release—a five song self-titled EP with renowned engineer, Curtis Buckoll. The band is based out of Vancouver British Columbia. Their style is notable for aggressive, technical guitar riffs, memorable choruses, and unforgiving breakdowns.
Since sharing the stage with the likes of legendary metal bands Lamb of God, Testament and Filipino act Slapshock, in support of Walks Like A Ghost on Canadian and Filipino national tours, live music fans everywhere have Summer of 2014 marked for Quartered`s triumphant return to the road.
After receiving high profile placements on platforms such as Harmonix’s Rock Band video game series and focusing on building a dedicated fan-base, Quartered dove deep into the writing process with Royce Whittaker of Spinnaker Sounds. The following studio sessions in White Rock, Canada during 2013 resulted in the stand-alone single Casa, the band’s most powerful creative effort to date. Continuing this momentum, the Eyes & Ears EP was recorded immediately afterwards, solidifying 2013 as Quartered’s most significantly creative year yet.
THE BODY POLITIC
The Body Politic is one of the hardest working progressive metal bands in Western Canada. Originating on Vancouver Island, BC, this six-piece powerhouse of poly-metric grooves, aggressive screams, and soaring vocal melodies believes in honing their craft and pushing the boundaries of modern metal music. With the release of their 2011 debut album 'All Too Human', the band has created a significant buzz in the Western Canadian music scene. After embarking on several Canadian tours (including opening spots for Tesseract, Protest The Hero, and Scale The Summit), fans have come to expect a loyal connection and a wildly energetic performance. Be it bold moves like releasing their full length digital album for free, or personal interactions like Facebook chatting with a fan, The Body Politic is a band that is determined to bring their music to as many people as possible.
