Mariachi El Bronx take the Rickshaw stage with guests, Kevin Von Helvete and Brasser!

Mariachi El Bronx

What began in 2008 as The Bronx’s creative experiment became Mariachi El Bronx’s unlikely headlining career, rooted in the Hispanic music and culture of their Los Angelos home. With 3 acclaimed albums, the eight piece has shared the stages with the Foo Fighters and the Killers, performed on David Letterman and lit up festivals from Coachella to Glastonbury.

Kevin Von Helvete

Kevin Von Helvete is a punk AF paraplegic comic from Vancouver, BC. He has performed extensively across N America including JFL NorthWest, Pouzza Fest MTL, The FEST FL & The Flogging Molly Salty Dog Cruise. Kevin also played a teacher on a stupid show on Netflix. So now he uses that as a Netflix credit. Kevin is wheelie funny. Kevin regrets that last joke.

Brasser

Carved from the remnants of the popular long-running internationally renowned ska band, The Brass Action, Brasser left some of the ska behind and blended in an entirely unhealthy dose of punk. The result is hard-hitting, in-your-face, punk rock with dual wailing saxes, sultry trumpet, and catchy vocals! These folks that have been impressing audiences since 2022 and are one of Vancouver’s best and most energetic acts, representing the transgender and queer communities with force. Since its inception, Brasser has formulated more than an album worth of songs and has blasted stages all over the Lower Mainland including New West Ska Punk Fest, Victoria Ska Fest, opening for NYC legends the Slackers, and Los Angeles’ Fishbone, playing Punkcouver Fest, and smashed through a 9 date Mexico tour in October 2024. The band has been frequenting British Columbia’s interior, touring with Stomp Records’ K-Man and The 45s (Montreal, Qb. Ca.), and Fat Wreck Chords’ Days N Daze (Texas, US), and Sony’s IllScarlett (Barrie, Ont. Ca.)! With a harmonic wall of sound, the goal is to get audiences on their feet dancing, moshing, and partying. Apart from pleasing crowds with slick song writing and woven horn lines, Brasser has developed a healthy following on Instagram, Facebook, and Tik Tok. Brasser released their debut EP titled Ruidoso (Spanish for noisy) which has been described as “fucking phenomenal” and enticing the listener to “knock down walls like the kool-aid man hyped as fuck.” Link. Brasser has recorded its 12-song debut studio album with multiple singles set to be released throughout 2026 and vinyl release in 2027. This album has been meticulously written with a signature blend of ska and punk. Brasser brings a fresh perspective to the scene, infusing their music with passion and rebellion and colliding where horns meet attitude. Unity music!
