The Mariachi & Rock Virtual Festival will be a unique and entertaining experience to celebrate Vancouver’s multicultural music scene. The Mariachi Los Dorados will interpret rock-inspired melodies in traditional Mexican music style; Tren al sur, Vancouver based cover band, will perform classic Spanish rock songs; and hard rocking original tunes will be played by the powerful band The Mighty One. Plus more!

This event is presented with support from SoundON, Creative BC, and the Province of British Columbia.

Mariachi Los Dorados

Canada’s premier mariachi ensemble, Los Dorados, are a collection of musical talent playing the finest Mexican traditional music with their own unique northern twist. Under the leadership of bandleader, vocalist and guitarist Alex Alegria since 2003, Los Dorados have been sharing the passion, love and respect for this internationally recognized art form.

Tren al Sur

This Latinx cover band completely reinvents the songs they cover! Founded in 2006 by a group of friends who decided to put together a rock cover band as an excuse to play live and see each other. The group is now well positioned in the west as the only group like this on this side of Canada.

TheMightyOne

TheMightyOne was created by Tim Steinruck in 2008. His former band Unchained was able to secure a multi million record deal with Polygram records and Paul Stanley of Kiss in the early 90’s. The emergence of grunge purged those hair metal dreams but Tim took the golden experiences and infused them into his own brand of creativity.

Cecilia Gallardo

Cecilia Gallardo began her career as a singer at the age of seven. In 1989 she received an invitation to be part of an important Mexican music ambassador group, sharing, at an early age, stages with great artists such as Lola Beltrán, Lucha Villa, Los Cuates Castilla, La Prieta Linda, El Charro Avitia, among many other figures of folklore and music in Mexico.

Alfonso De Anda

Communicator, host and producer with more than 25 years of career in the media. Throughout his career, Poncho has conducted more than a hundred interviews with the most important personalities in the entertainment industry (Shakira, Metallica, Robert de Niro, Ben Stiller) to name just a few. In addition, in the last 8 years Poncho has focused on the development and creation of content as a producer, director, creator of formats.
