Zappostrophe
Zappostrophe’ is a Vancouver-based 8-piece band, playing favourites and lesser-known works from Frank Zappa’s eclectic recordings. We are all professional musicians with an eclectic mix of backgrounds and training – one thing we have in common is a love for the challenge of recreating (and re-imagining) Frank’s music.
UnZappologetic
Led by guitarists Daniel Deorksen and Thomas Hoeller, UnZappologetic has made a name for itself with repeated sold out Halloween shows at Tyrant Studios and by bringing a fresh, modern and hard hitting approach to Frank’s music. The 9-piece ensemble boasts some of the top rhythm section, vocal and brass talent that Vancouver’s jazz, rock and avant-garde communities have to offer.
Let's Make the Water Turn Black
Founded and originally helmed by the late great Tony Wilson, this septet of sought-after Vancouver musicians tackles some of the prolific and idiosyncratic 20th-century composer’s most beloved hits (and, well, anti-hits). Featuring John Korsrud, Alvaro Rojas, Daniel Deorksen, Robin Layne, Maria Gabrielle, Russell Sholberg and Jordy McIntosh.
