JAR.

JAR. released their debut EP “Harsh and Discord” independently in 1996, receiving national distribution with the help of Clyde and AMAR Management. Their 1998 independent full-length album “Knott Skull” charted nationally thanks in part to the bands’ relentless cross-country touring. In 1999, both JAR. and NICKELBACK were included on CFOX’ prestigious SEEDS promotion which brought the attention of major labels. JAR. signed with Columbia / Sony, and changed their name to FLYBANGER, releasing one full length album, “Headtrip To Nowhere”. FLYBANGER toured internationally alongside the likes of CLUTCH, CORROSION OF CONFORMITY, SEPULTURA, and SOULFLY; before succumbing to various record industry pitfalls. The members have continued to work with Clyde in various capacities.

Members of Noise Therapy

NOISE THERAPY was formed in 1993 by bassist Rob Thiessen, guitarist Kai Markus, drummer Oscar Irwin and lead vocalist Mark Simpson. In 1995 the band released their first album independently, and signed on with Clyde Hill at AMAR Management, who concurrently handled JAR. and NICKELBACK. Following a Canadian tour with BROTHER CANE, Mark Simpson was replaced by vocalist Dave Ottoson.

NOISE THERAPY caught the attention of producer Mike Plotnikoff, who then hooked them up with the tandem of producer Bruce Fairbairn & manager Bruce Allen. With the support from these three along with management, radio, and MuchMusic, the band signed a record deal with A&M Records. “The Cyclops E.P.” was NOISE THERAPY’s first major label release and spawned videos for the singles “Loser Magnet” & “Down” both of which charted on radio, as well as “Down” being added to E.A. Sports’ NHL ’99. More touring followed & as momentum continued the full-length album “Myton Lowrider” was released and immediately received heavy radio & video rotation with the first single “Electric”.

In 1999, NOISE THERAPY was handpicked to support MÖTLEY CRÜE, after which Kai was poached by Tommy Lee for the drummer’s METHODS OF MAYHEM project; causing NOISE THERAPY band to go on hiatus.

NOISE THERAPY regrouped in 2001 to record their final album “Tension” for Redline Entertainment, as a five piece with the inclusion of keyboardist James F and drummer Bobby James (DDT). Released in 2002, the ensuing tour saw the band supporting the likes of SEETHER, OTEP and ILL NINO.
