Metallic Hardcore icons Converge play the Rickshaw on October 3rd! Catch them with support from a stacked lineup featuring Deaf Club, King Yosef & Entry!
Converge
Converge put the New England punk and metal scene on the map-and provided a musical blueprint for metalcore- in 2001 with Jane Doe, a bone-crushing collection of churning hardcore punctuated by pulverizing riffage and fury. That spirit of sonic obliteration has been a defining feature of Converge’s songwriting ever since vocalist Jake Bannon and guitarist Kurt Ballou cofounded the band in Salem.
Deaf Club
Deaf Club is a savage sound bath dripping with sardonicism: a blastbeat-centric hardcore punk assault channeling crust, thrash, and grind (un)sensibilities. Succinct pauses, surreal frequencies and effects, breakneck pace and sharply hurled vocals characterize the band’s aesthetic, which seems as though it is rooted in a sort of nasty-sound-meets-highbrow-message ethos.
King Yosef
King Yosef is the solo project of musician, producer and singer Tayves Yosef Pelletier from Portland, Oregon, USA. His music lurks in the sewers beneath noise-rap, industrial-metal and bleeding-throat metallic hardcore. This is underworld music, void of earthly genre conventions and not a speck of feel-good light to be found.
