Percussive and rhythmic, Empanadas Ilegales combines conventional Latin sounds and instruments with steady undertones of surf rock and psych. They’re experimental and groovy, with upbeat, guitar-forward riffs that keep parties rockin’ and dancefloors full. To summarize, this is not “traditional” Latin music, but much more layered, colourful and interplanetary.
Felisha & The Jazz Rejects
Felisha and the Jazz Rejects is a four piece rock band from Vancouver BC established in May 2022 by lead singer Felisha Rolin. The band met in 2019 in the Jazz Studies program at Capilano University. They take what they learned in and outside of school to create their own mystic punk/rock sound.
Hope Slide
Originally a solo project by vocalist/guitarist Calvin Jay, Hope Slide is now a six piece collaboration from Vancouver, BC. With Calvin Jay’s storytelling lyricism and notes of indie rock, dark wave, and folk, Hope Slide strives to create a sound uniquely their own.
