Don’t miss Ohio-based Metalcore group Miss May I as they take the Rickshaw stage this September!

Miss May I

The sound and fury of MISS MAY I is deeply embedded in the hearts and minds of a legion of fans. These are people from different backgrounds, of different ages, with diverse life experience, who all come together and connect with MISS MAY I’s combination of brutal proficiency and impassioned delivery. The five-piece powerhouse, from the fertile metalcore grounds of America’s heartland, have become an integral part of the worldwide heavy music community, transcending boundaries and limitations, galvanizing crowds, and energizing each person they encounter.

Miss May I celebrates a decade of savage metalcore and soaring melodic refrains, newly revitalized, and poised for an insurgent career renaissance; armed with unmistakable power, road hardened experience, a steadily building catalog, and unrelenting spirit, supported by a diehard community.

Currents

A hard-hitting American djent/metalcore unit based out of Connecticut, currents began operations in 2011, and spent the next few years finding their voice, eventually settling on a lineup that included Brian Wille (vocals), Jeff Brown (drums), Chris Wiseman (guitar), Ryan Castaldi (guitar), and Dee Cronkite (bass). Drawing inspiration from bands like Northlane, Architects, and Structures, the newly minted five-piece spent two years piecing together and then honing the material that would make up their debut album. The resulting the place I feel safest arrived in 2017 via sharptone, with an ep, I let the devil in, arriving one year later.

Kingdom of Giants

Kingdom of Giants is a melodic metalcore sextet from northern California. Born from the remains of another band in 2010. They issued their debut ep, abominable, in January of 2011. They followed with their first proper full-length, every wave of sound, which received unanimous acclaim from the underground metal press. It attracted so much attention, it provided the band with management and the opportunity to play in Europe. They signed with Invogue records in early 2014. Their label debut, ground culture, was produced by Andreas Magnusson (haste the day, the black dahlia murder, fit for a king) and issued in the fall, followed by intensive touring as they headlined their own dates in the United States and Canada, as well as playing the festival stages of Europe. After relentless touring for a year-and-a-half, the band re-entered the studio. In August 2016, Willax announced a “New album” in a youtube interview. In February of 2017, Invogue issued the video for pre-release single “Damaged goods” and followed it with “Runaway” in march, and “Tunnel vision and “Cash out” in April. The full-length album, all the hell you’ve got to spare, was issued in early May. Produced, engineered, and mixed by Nick Loiacono, the set featured 11 new tracks and included guest appearances by T Cavey from Erra, Daniel Gailey from Phinehas, and vocalist Caitlyn Mae from progressive rock band Fighting the Villain.

LANDMVRKS

LANDMVRKS’ was born in 2014 in Marseille, France. For two years, the band composed songs, recorded and started playing local shows by sharing the bill with bands such as FIRST BLOOD, MORE THAN LIFE and little by little, LANDMVRKS started making a name for themselves in the French metalcore scene. During this time, the band released a few singles and videos to help build up their fan base. In May 2016, LANDMVRKS released their first album »Hollow« entirely produced by Florent Salfati and Nicolas Exposito. They decided to release this album independently. In 2018, the band signed a contract with Arising Empire Records for their second studio album »Fantasy« and they demonstrate how successfully the band has managed to build their name and assert its own style. During two years, they travelled the world, played in Japan, did some headlines tours and had the opportunity to have great European tours (While She Sleeps, Stray From The Path, Any Given Day). While they were on the road, they had the time to focus on a brand new material. ‘Rainfall’ is the first single, it shows clearly the new direction from the french band, and how powerful will be the new LANDMVRKS. Mature, melodic, deeper and powerful.
