UK Psychobilly rippers, The Meteors take the Rickshaw stage this December with support from Billy and The Parole Models and CRYPTYDS.
The Meteors
The Meteors started forty-five years ago as a reaction against the soft rockabilly that was popular at that time. They have now evolved to become the acknowledged “Kings of Psychobilly”.
Their audience has continually expanded, and includes not just psychobillies, but everybody from rockabillies and punks, to bikers, and most alternatives. They are the original creators of Psychobilly Music, and although they have spawned hundreds of imitations, THE METEORS are proud to be the only pure Psychobilly band ever. Their songs are inspired by their personal experiences and interests.
Billy and The Parole Models
When the local punk rock and roll frontman, singer lyricist of the Black Halos fame Billy Hopeless said he had a new gang that was a perfect fit to open for the Memphis legend J.D Williams at our venue we gave him a chance and what can we say but not only the audience but the staff were dancing to their revved up 50s and 60s jukebox hits. Billy said he wasn’t sure too but felt it was what he and other people needed right now. We’re pleased to say Billy was right and now after playing several other prestigious shows Were pleased to announce that Billy and the Parole Models will be bringing the party back to our city as main support for the O.G legendary British. psychobilly band The Meteors
Cryptyds
Formed in Vancouver BC in 2024, Cryptyds have made it their mission to be totally authentic both on and off stage, believing the act of playing rock and roll should never be just an act. Relying largely on word of mouth, they have gradually gained popularity in their local circuit as a powerhouse of “old school” rock and no-nonsense riffs. Aiming for higher things, Cryptyds strive not only to soothe the needs of hopeful old rockers, but to bring their timeless rock and roll attitude back into the hands of the youth.
