NYC ska legends The Slackers return to the Rickshaw stage on May 29th with support from The Elixxxirs and Generous Thieves.
The Slackers
Dubbed ‘the Sound of New York’ by the New York Times, for 33 years the NYC-based and critically acclaimed Slackers have been touring the world with their blend of Ska, Reggae, and Soul. Performing 1000s of live performances and feeding their fans with energetic sets of ecstatic music.
The Elixxxirs
The Elixxxirs featuring Bobbi-Jo Moore are a Vancouver band delivering hook-heavy originals, tight rhythms, and high-energy performances shaped by a vibrant blend of punk, ska, soul, pop, and rock influences. Fronted by songwriter Bobbi-Jo Moore, the band combines driving energy with emotionally sharp lyrics and a dynamic stage presence.
Currently recording new material, The Elixxxirs continue to evolve their sound while bringing the same driving energy that keeps audiences locked in.

While many Canadian reggae acts fight for recognition at home, Generous Thieves found an unlikely path abroad. In 2023 they sparked a wave of attention in Japan, quickly becoming a fan favourite, leading to successful tours in 2024 and 2025. Their approachability and willingness to personally engage with fans have helped them build a loyal international following, even as they remain under-the-radar in Canada.
